In ancient times, the Duchy of Normany was divided into a number of different regions. The modern New Normandy follows this tradition, in order to make face-to-face meetings easier to facilitate. As a whole, these local groups are generically called "Shires"; each Shire may have a specific term to describe it which better reflects its numbers and function.
